Jeezum Crow! Almost, Maine in Backyard, NYC
Recently had the privilege of playing Dave in "Seeing The Thing" as part of The Drama Company NYC's production of Almost, Maine by John Cariani, directed by Sara Laursen.
While we weren't able to have a physical audience for obvious reasons and had to pre-record the performance for virtual release, it was still a real pleasure getting to collaborate in the flesh again, especially on a show as well done as this one and after a year of nothing but "Zoom theatre" (which could be considered an oxymoron). From the acting to the design, the whole team managed to make a shotgun backyard in Manhattan actually feel like a small, cozy, snowy town in Maine. It definitely helped that the snow on the ground and frigid temps were (at times quite uncomfortably) real, particularly at the end our scene... No spoilers, just "see the thing" for yourself!
